Every day I pop on here, and look at questions from the Religion and spirituality section, I get more and more angry with the questions many Christians seem to ask here. It seems as if they can't accept the idea of people following their own beliefs, and practicing other faiths. How come you never see Muslims, Taoists, Hindus, Jews, etc. imposing their faith on others here like you do with Christians posters?

Part of believing in God, is understanding that God is love. God says to love your fellow man despite your differences. Why do such a mass of Christian posters here seem to have such a hard time understanding that teaching?

For example, I saw a guy ask if prayer should be taught in school here, and he chose someone who said "yes" as the answer. Both the asker and answerer seemed to have no respect for the beliefs of other people. Don't they know, freedom of religion is what separates us from those religious extremist governments like the Taliban?

Someone asked about the "God is love" phrase, and where I got that. I actually took multiple courses on religion and mythology in college. The phrase "God is love" is a common thread in multiple religions. Not only Christianity, though it is in fact a religious teaching Christians inherited from the Torah.

The statement is made however wondering why Christians here think they have the right to push their beliefs on others when their own Bible states that they should love their fellow man despite their differences.

It's food for thought my friend, but I think you may have pointed out the Bible contradicting itself... but thats for another discussion. You may want to take that one to your preacher and see how they interpret "Love your fellow man" versus "If you're not a Christian, you're going to hell" mentality. I would love to hear how religious leaders interpret that.

Dennis,

There is no need to insult someone for worshiping Islam. However, after reading that post, where you hate Muslims but "I love you my brother"... never speak of people contradicting themselves again lol. Evidentally, from reading that long drawn out post, you know absolutely nothing about other faiths.

This is not a question about free speech. In this thread we assume freedom of speech as a given. It's why people of other faiths can practice any religion of your choosing. The question remains to be one not about free speech, but why many Christians have issues with accepting people's constitutional freedom of religion here on yahoo answers.

The problem lies in religion. People are the same everywhere.

I agree. There seem to be lots of Christians here who think that America was founded by Christians and the only reasons other religions are allowed here is because America is tolerating them. The founding fathers were atheists and the Christians need to accept other religious beliefs and stop damning every non Christian to Hell. I'm Muslim and I think that Christians who are overly zealous and like condemning people to Hell based on different religions need a course in History understand that America is founded on freedom of religion NOT just Christianity. Not all Christians are like this but some are and it makes me mad to see these people who don't follow their own Bible correctly and think they can diss other religions.

To answer your first question. - The bible says to go out and preach the truth to the world so all may come to know Christ as savior. To be frank, maybe its because they don't feel what we feel inside and the desire to let people know the lord that we know.

Now I dont condone pushing faith on anyone. Obviously that will push people away and further the hate towards Christians on this subject. I believe however, Christians who have strong testimonies just want people to know what Jesus has done in their life.

Your second part and third part.. I agree that God is love. But if we believe in our bible, it states that their is only ONE true God and to love that God with all your mind, body, and soul.

Well, I have seen Muslims trying to assert Sharia law...

But after careful consideration, I have decided that they are using religion as a political vehicle instead of an actual religion. Bad Fundamentalist, bad!

But mostly, yes. It's pretty strange that Christians can be so un-Christ-like.

A major part of the problem is fear. Too many people fear that freedom of religion also means freedom FROM religion. They fear that if that idea became commonplace, it would diminish their power and influence in national and local affairs. They also suspect that it would lessen the legitimacy of their preferred dogma.
In other words, it's not at all about love and faith and worship, but about power, prestige and money. Christians want to control you. And they want you to pay, and pay dearly, to be controlled by them. They are indeed the American Taliban!

I don't think they are as confident in their religion as the other religions are. They feel that they have to convince others of it before they themselves can be convinced. They also seem to think that because the bible says their religion is the true religion and that the only path to God is through Jesus, this can be the only truth when other religions will say the same thing about their faith.

No, It's not like that... They actually accept the freedom but there's a duty that a christians have to carry on... It's to spread the word from God, to make more people believe. So they always seems to make you become christians...

Many people will have various beliefs. This has been thoughout the ages, because God gave you the right to make choices.
God also gave you His written Word, as a guide to live by. If those words are adhered to, then there would not be a need to vote on whether prayer should be in schools or not. There also would not be a need to criticize your neighbor.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
The Word of God, is your guide for living. However, since we are in the end times, there will be many anti-christs, false teachings, false prophets, and many strewn and false beliefs.
We are to test everything, being sure that it is of God, and not of man.

You State that part of beliving in God is understanding God is love. How do you know that? Did you make it up? Or did you read it in the Bible. If you follow that then follow the rest of the bible which states only Faith in Jesus Christ gets you to heavan and saves you from Hell.

God is the ultimate for all religions and therefore, why should no one pray to God in schools regardless of their denomination. To take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance is also ridiculous.
Remember the little boy;s story. His little dog followed him to school one day and was put outside on the step not being permitted inside. God appeared to the little crying dog and said"It will be all right, they wont let me in either"
