because they believe that money will make them happier, but all it ends up doing is killing them... seriously. sometimes, they go crazy because they have too much money and then they do really fu**ed up things to themselves.

Actually, it's not that hard for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. That was the name of a city gate, and while it must have been awkward for the camel (hence the expression), it was not impossible.
As to why people get rich, even though they are aware of the various scriptural references to giving what you have to the poor, etc., I can only conclude that they have decided they are better stewards of the resources they gather than those who so willingly donate it. The Pope is not rich, but the Church is. Billy Graham may have considerable personal wealth, but he also has an expensive ministry and probably donates a lot of the money he collects to missionaries and the like. TV evangelists at least want the public to believe that the money they collect goes for good works.
Wealth should not be seen as a bar to heaven, but a responsibility. A person who has much can expect that many will look to him for the seed money, at least, for good works. The IRS certainly does: one gets major tax breaks off charitable donations.
I am not a Christian, so perhaps you feel my opinion is not worthwhile. But since many non-Christians often use the wealth accumulated by churches and ministers as an excuse to criticize, I will ask them this: should only the wicked prosper? Shouldn't good people have the right to a fair return on their investment, a fair wage for their labor, an honest profit for producing goods people want to buy?

First just because one is rich does not mean they they will not go to heaven. All it means is the richer people get the less they feel they have a need for God. There are many rich Christians who will go to heaven. Then again there are many more rich people who will not. I know this is classifying and make rather larger generalizations, but it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter heaven. That does not make it impossible. I do have issues with some TV evangelists, but what right do I have in judging whether someone will or will not go to heaven. Remember, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."

Jesus said this because the man "trusted in his riches" and not in the Lord. If you continue to read the scriptures you will see that Jesus also says that "with God all things are possible." Jesus never said that the rich will not be allowed into heaven-He just said that it is hard.
God truly wants His people to prosper! Joshua 1:8 (prosper and have good success), 3 John 1:2 (prosper and be in good health) And don't forget how God honored the prayer of Jabez!
Wouldn't you want your children to be prosperous and successful. God is no different.

it is much easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. the eye of a needle was a place in the middleeast if i remember correctly that is very narrow and next to impossible to get a camel thru. however, abraham was a rich man. he had a large ranch and many animals and servants. it is not impossible but it is rare for a rich man to make it.

Many people have a giant problem....greed. They think that the more that they have the better off they are. This of course, is totally against what God's word say.
There are some, though...that have been blessed to have more because they do more. i.e. they are more fruitful in the Kingdom of God, i.e. ..in spreading the word of God. In bringing people to know Christ.
However,.....if the money is used in a manner inconsistent with the Bible, then it is directly against the word of God.
The Bible says that we cannot serve two masters. We will love one and hate the other.
We are not to love earthly posessions; nor lay up for ourselves for the thieves to break in and steal.
Many of the rich actually do spread the word of God to regions that would not otherwise hear. Many use the money to show off to their friends, indulge in human greed, and participate in the devils leisure and doings. They will have their just reward in the end.

If what you write is true, then you are saying that rich folks make so much money because they are corrupt. That's not true. Because you are rich, it doesn't mean you earned all of that money through evilness. Some rich people have tremendous amount of talents and gifts. They are born lucky with certain traits that is conductive to success and plenty of money. For example A-Rod of the NY Yankee baseball team. He earns $25 million a year not through sin but because he's a gifted athlete.

Jesus did not say they would not get to heaven
He said it would be easier for a camel, but not impossible for a rich man. It all comes down to how faithful you are with giving, sharing and blessing others with your gifts from God.
the 'eye of the needle' in those times was the gate, which was like a curvy maze that went from the outside of the wall of a city to the inner wall of the city. Camels were loaded with wares most of the time, and would have to be stripped of their packs and then walked in to the city thru the 'gate' (it wasnt just a door people walked thru) the elders of the city would be seated in different places thru-out the gate as people passed into and out of the city

hey, if you read on to the next few verses,
"But with God, all things are possible."
Jesus did not tell us to be poor all our lifes and suffer to be holy, no no no that's a misconception of atheists and sadly some christians.
"To be the salt of the earth, light to the world."
are you with me? see, i personally feel its more like
1) what you do with the money, and
2) whether you're serving the mammon or God.
3) balance of priority is the key.
1) bigger churches like mine go on mission trips and humanitarian trips several times a year. how would we do it without the money? it's through your faithfulness and success that people see what God has done in your life, how you can be the best in your job and yet faithful, that's being the light and the salt.
2) Jesus said one cannot serve mammon and God. And you really ought to read the Bible in context, not just mis-quote it like you are doing now. The next few verses down Jesus says "With God all things are possible." You CAN be rich and yet faithful and righteous.
3) Eccs says:
"Do not be overly righteous; why should you kill yourself?
Do not be overly wicked; why should you die before your time?"
if you, in your anxiety to spread the Word, preach in your classes, preach at your workplace, type sermons and stuff at work, then you arent doing the right thing at work. when at work, be the best! give it your fullest attention! but when occasions arise, invite them for an Easter service maybe?
and when off work, pray, spend quiet time with God, read the Bible, that is what a Christian should do.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
Being rich is not the problem...it is what a person does with the wealth....their are many people who have made much that are spending their time right now giving back....ask your self how much you personally give back to society.....education is about developing contributing members of society not selfish idiots that are only out for themselves....look at our world today and you can see both sides....those on one side will not always stay on the same side.
