i have heard that smell of burning rubber can cause cancer over a period of time is there any truth to that anybody know i am exposed to burning rubber at my work daily

Then everyone in Akron Ohio would have cancer.
it is probably not the best thing in the world for you, but I wouldn't worry about it.

No smell can cause cancer. I would imagine theat there are carcinogens in the smoke and vapors of burning rubber.. I would believe that being exposed to this smoke/fumes over a period of time could cause cancer.

definitely right, because it releases toxic fumes. much like of burning plastics and smokes coming from the vehicles. it may cause breathing problems which may lead to cancer of the lungs

when rubber is burned it gives off toxic fumes. it isn't the smell really, it's the fume itself that is dangerous.

I wouldn't have thought it healthy for you...Another thing reported to increase the risk of cancer is using cling film in the microwave, so best avoid that too.
