If so, please share your experiences. Last night I apparently devoured over half of a half-gallon carton of frozen yogurt in my sleep, so I went googling and found some reports of this kind of thing. Feeling a little ill this morning. Also a little disappointed, since Ambien was the first sleep med that actually worked well for me and didn't have negative side effects.

Alittle bit when I first started taking it. I never ate anything but sometimes would end up going down and watching TV without remebering.
The trick that made me stop was just locking my bedroom door, and going to bed straight after I take it. I've been on it for 13 months and this only happened in the first few weeks.
Good luck to you with it, it is really very helpful.

took ambien for three months, loved it at first, and yes, if you do not stay in bed you can do anything, sleep drive, sleep eat and sleep walk and not remember it the next day. eventually ambien will cause you side effects, it does to everyone. i got severe vertigo at the mall a few weeks ago and went to the emergency room. noone told me it was the ambien, but i went off it and feeling fine. it also will screw up your memory BIGTIME. i couldn't remember what i was saying minute to minute. it's hard not sleeping, but i now realize there is nothing medicine wise that you can do on a regular basis that is safe. you will prob. not listen to me and learn the hard way, i did. but i will use it for vacation only. or cut uyour pill in thirds with a wire cutter. don't eat after dinner and take the low dose on an empty stomach and it will work better. but don't take more than five milligrams. that ten will kill you and so will the 12.5 long acting. and you can't break that one. but since you are really sleepwalking on it, i would say be very careful, you could easily drive, too. but it is definitely caused by the ambien, i know for a fact.

A lot of people find ambien addictive. There was a guy I knew on this support group http://www.non-benzodiazepines.org.uk who got severe anxiety the next day as a withdrawal symptom and had to quit his job because of ambien.
All of the prescription sleep aids and tranquillisers have addiction potential and can cause bizarre side effects including doing weird things when half awake half asleep states.

My grandma does this same thing. She will get up and do some of the most embarassing things ever and not remember any of it the next morning. This happens a lot. And she's on ambien by the way...

You can if you take too much or don't go to bed right away and stay there until you go to sleep. Sometimes you have to have your roommates put you back to bed if you get up.

You can also start cutting it down to 1/2 for awhile, then 1/4 if the symptoms don't stop.

My grandma took this too and saw people camping in her living room. I also heard about a guy on a plain who talked to all these people then realized they weren't there.
