the office is closed...actually, in correct Spanish you would say "la oficina está cerrada"

La oficina está cerrada = The office is closed.

It's should read: "La oficina esta cerrada" and means "The office is closed."
PS: There should be an accent rising from left to right on the "a" in "esta" but for some reason I can't do it here...

The office is closed.

But it should be "está cerrada".

Tell your friend and bug him for a bit!
