One leading theory is that the inner core of Mars cooled enough to allow the magnetic field to forever vanish. Thus the atmosphere was destroyed and the gases escaped.

Trying to put a political slant on science are you? You need some facts to get you straight.

Life may never have started on Mars in the first place. There is no evidence yet that there was ever life on Mars.
Recent global warming on Mars has been found to be due to dust storms and not due to people driving SUVs or increased solar radiation. A bit of global warming would be welcome because compared with the Earth it is a very cold planet.
The magnetic core of Mars froze a long time ago. Without the protective magnetic field the solar wind was able to blow the atmosphere away. If there was life then it had to cope with the loss of most of the atmosphere.
