My son has a cold and I am trying very hard not to catch it. We have been trading colds since January so I am obsessed with not getting it. Along with washing our hands every 5 minutes and sanitizing everything, I bought Airborne tabs. Anyone try it? Does it work or is it a scam? Please share your thoughts if you tried it. Thank you.

It's a scam. There was actually a TV investigation on it. I think it was good morning America a couple years ago. In short the investigator asked the airborne company about their "clinical trials" determining that Airborne was effective. The investigator was given the address of a clinic/lab in key west. when the investigator got there, it was a residential house and the person there knew nothing about a clinic/lab. when the investigator contacted the company, they admitted that they didn't have a clinic/lab but studies were done by doctor. When the investigator went looking for the "doctor" it turned out that he had went to medical school in Illinois but failed out.
The FDA as a result of this investigation required that the airborne package can no longer advertise that they "will prevent a cold".
So far the best evidence for herbal cold prevention exists with echinecia and zinc.

Colds are caused by viruses: wash you hands and have your son wash his (if he's old enough) with soap.

I have used airborne to occasionally stave off a throat tickle, sometimes successfully and sometimes not. I think it probably works better if you use it prior to that stage. It supposedly works to boost your immune system. Getting plenty of sleep is the best immune booster, in my experience. Airborne won't hurt.

You see, during cold weather you get all sort of respiratory infections, viral /allergic both, not to spare bronchial asthma, the upper tract in most patients become highly senstive during winter and any trigger factor including Airborne tabs. have no role to play.
Just avoid any allergens surrounding you as far as possible. You will get rid of this cold trading during the end of this month as it happens in most of autoimmune compromised cases.
I my self have this problem during winter specially when humidity is low.

It helps shorten the duration of the cold, not cure it. I use it when I get sick and I seem to get well sooner...
