So God has the power to make the Universe, make Man and Woman, but not make a belly button?

Nice logic.

Well I don't believe in Adam and Eve, but my guess as to why they have belly buttons is because the artist that drew/painted them had a belly button and they did the picture the way they knew the human body to look like.

They were drawn by humans. And the painters have belly buttons, thus Adam and Eve had belly buttons. And no painting is correct, no one knows what they looked like. They always look too clean and well-groomed in my opinion, but who wants to see a picture of dirty, hairy people?

Many Christians interpret the texts of the Book of Genesis, especially the opening chapters, not as a treatise on biology or geologic history, but as a theological narrative which is indicating truths about God and about human nature. This might be a much more productive way of thinking about the Book of Genesis, rather than worrying about whether or not Adam and Eve had navels.

Apparently, it was in God's plan that homo sapiens evolve from a life form that also had belly buttons, and since they obviously served a purpose they were kept there for further use.

(And by the way, I don't think any of those artists were actually in the Garden of Eden while Adam and Eve posed for their pictures.)

Artistic license. You will also notice they are usually Caucasian.

There are churches that have split over this issue - did Adam and Eve have a belly button? Not exactly a divisive theological issue.

That is mans concept of what Adam and Eve looked like, not Gods.

As Adam and Eve are figments of someone's imagination, any artist can draw them as s/he pleases. A more pertinent question would be why are they always portrayed as being white?

Those pictures are drawn by some dumb artists. Show me one drawn by God and there will be no belly button for sure.

Actually, Adam and Eve never happened, it's just a story to basically say "Here's pretty much what happened".
