is PID controller an integrated circuit?I have not seen a picture of it before, but i've heard so much of it.

It can be an IC micro controller, or a pneumatic based mechanism. PID control is an action rather than a device.

PID stands for Proportional, Integral,Derivative. Each is an action that may be added to a control system either through programming or via mechanical means which modifies how corrective action is taken in order to control a variable to a controlled set point.

The P stands for proportional, and refers to the use of the difference between the current level and the set point to make an adjustment. This is most important for a quick response. If you took that out you would rely on the I for integrated. This makes up the signal from the accumulated error history, and consequently the response is very slow. The D for differential is there to stop the signal overshooting, which is hardly going to be an issue in this context. Unless you really want a slow controller, you are better off with PID or PI.

No, it is not an integrated ckt. it is useed in a controller. In PID controller there are three nobs for P,I,& D actions respectively. we use it in a combination as PI,PD or PID or indiviually P. Integral and derivative control action are not used alone.
