Hmm..for at least a year or so... i'd started drinking lots of water(plain tap water)....lets say around 8 litres per day. i live in singapore, so tap water is basicaly the best and safest... plus singapore's pretty humid..... other than the sodium being reduced way quickly in the body, are there other bad points.......Thanks...alot..;)..

Water intoxication (a.k.a. water poisoning, or hyperhydration) can kill you in a short time. It recently caused the death of a woman who was on a radio station competition called "Hold your wee for a wii".

Yes!! Too much water can cause actual water intoxication thus possibly leading to death! A young mother in the states just had that happen a few months ago when she entered a radio contest to try to win a 'wii' game and died from what is referred to as water intoxication where the salt gets used up by the body as you mentioned or something along those lines. Please do check with your dr as to the safe amounts to be drinking daily.

look up water intoxication and see what it says. You are drinking alot of water, excessive. It's usually 6 to 8 cups a day, There might be a medical reason for your excessive intake. You gotta go somewhere and tell on yourself! But, really, look it up and see what it says. You could have a problem with a pituitary gland, diabetes insipudus, there are alot of things that make people drink too much.

Well, it is possible to drink too much water if you drink large amounts of water very fast. Healthy adult kidneys can process about 15 liters of water a day.

If you just make sure that you eat as well, drink the water through out the day and don't drink it too cold, you should be ok.

I think the correct minimum water intake would be at least one liter per 50 lbs of body weight.

A eight liters a day, you are in no peril.

If you were drinking over 20 or 25 liters per day then you might have a health problem.

8 litres is too much. You sould drink from 1 to 3 litres per day. You can damage your health if you drink more. Hyponatremia is the most usual side-effect.
