The Universe is the manifest Brahmn. It is neither the creation nor the creator.

I've given this much thought.

Yes, it is one of many possibilities that the universe re-creates itself. Under this possibility are two sub-possibilities: The universe will create itself a finite number of times, or the universe has, does, and always will recreate itself without boundaries of time.

Although I find that last possibility disturbing, it is actually no less disturbing than the finite universe(s) theory, in fact it is reassuring, that life always could exist...just with brief billion/trillion years "breaks"..

And actually, it is possible that these breaks won't be so long in time, because since some theories go that time and gravity are qualities of space and the universe, well whenever the universe destroys and re-creates itself, there is no time at that moment...and how time flows at the reformation of a universe is sort of complicated.

There are many other possibilities:
*This universe is really just an offshoot of a large or smaller (but dimensionally more complex) universe.
*This universe is not bounded by time.
*The universe is just an 11 dimension perspective of an infinitely dimensional God or ultra universe.
*Or as Steven Hawking suggests, there are many universes connected by electron-wide wormholes. (I think that is what one of his books suggested).

Who is God, I don't know.

But what role would he play? Well, why does the universe creating itself change the role of God? Who set that universe's creating itself into motion? Say you claim, the universe did, ok, fine. But why does it do that, and how is it that it works? Could not God be the creator of that infinite engine, the self-creating universe? Could not God be the governor of all its laws and behaviours?

Think about it: If God exists, it is possible God exists outside of time/space. Remember, time doesn't exist except as it is relative to time/space, right?

So God existed before the infinitely existing universe even though the universe could have (time-wise) always existed.

This is a difficult concept to wrap around one's brain and it even took me a while to grasp it.

Remember, both the universe (when destroyed/or being re-created) and God are not limited to the rules of "time".(if a god exists, which I believe god does because of the graceful mathematic expression of most phenomena).

It is a view of God that modern people like to reject but is very possible. God spoke, thought, willed, whatever, and in doing so the universe suddenly had always existed, or at least was as old as God wanted it to be. Then, any time something needed to be created, "big-bang" as scientists like to theorize, or whatever, God wound it up and let it go. Wouldn't it be nice to have a self-winding watch though?

Maybe that is what the universe is: God's self-winding glows in the dark watch. I'm sort of joking and will stop here, before I commit blasphemy, but one never knows, my joke could be the truth.

Universe, Yes it might be possible.

The age of the universe, according to the Big Bang theory, is the time elapsed between the Big Bang and the present day. The current scientific consensus holds this to be about 13.7 billion years.
NASA's Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) project estimates the age of the universe to be:

(13.7 ± 0.2) × 109 years.

That is, the universe is about 13.7 billion years old,[1] with an uncertainty of 200 million years. However, this age is based on the assumption that the project's underlying model is correct; other methods of estimating the age of the universe could give different ages.

The name God refers to the deity held by monotheists to be the supreme reality. God is generally regarded as the sole creator of the universe.[1] As of 2007, a majority of human beings are classified as adherents of religions that worship a monotheistic God, usually the Abrahamic God of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abrahamic

The name of God created by men. All these religions like a small and large industries. there is a one name who is head of these industries. like in Hinduism there are three names Brahma , Vishnu and Shiva.
In Muslims Allah. and same in others.

But these all are man created. no one had seen Allah or Shiva or any one. life is very easy when you are out of these confusions.
These all stories are written by someone.

There is no religion before birth and after death. all names are given by people and depends on families were child was born.

after death we don't know what is going happened to your body. people those love you much they could keep died body because the person having no more life. where is that love gone.

So there is no God, Do love share love and happiness it will make you life easy with full of enjoyment.

If you travel within yourself you can see god without any doubt within you.
like two human create a third and it goes on generation to generation the same way the universe also creates itself there is no start nor end to it it will keep going till the destruction of the universe.

God is in some way an idol. If its true the universe created itself, then there's no harm come from believing in God. Believers try to make the world a better place because they belive its what God wanted. So his role could basically be someone to believe in, keep faith in when everything goes wrong.

(FYI this is coming from an atheist)

Saying the Universe can create itself is the same as saying a stick can create a car, or a rock can build a computer. It is impossibie for the "whole" to be greater then its parts. It is impossible for something inferior to build something superior. For the universe to exist, there has to be a "greater" that created it. And the "greater" can not be part of it. The "greater" has to be outside of and independent of the creation.

I was walking by the river the other day, and all of a sudden a floating piece of wood carved it self into the shape of a boat, then some iron metal cut it self into small pieces that looked like nails. Then an air floating hammer pinned the nails into that piece of wood and BOOOMMMM I got my self a real nice boat, the process repeated it self and by the end of the day I got my self hundreds and hundreds of different kinds of boats..

Seems ridiculously unbelievable? That’s coz it is ridiculous and unbelievable. If a boat can’t make it self, and a hammer can’t float in air and pin nails then how could you think for a second that a whole universe created it self?

Personally, I believe that the Universe did create itself. It's not THAT far-fetched, given
1. the Big Bang theory
2. it's not a sentient being, so it's very possible

God is nothing more than a filler. He was created as a catch-all for the answers that we were too stupid to discover on our own. He is today's God of the Gaps.

Universe = God

Universe is matter which is lifeless, and can do nothing by itself. When God enlivens it with the required energy, it starts performing, as commanded by the God.

Matter which is eternal is shaped into requisite forms by God, and that is known as "creation". So the creation is of the universe and not of the matter. Matter (maya), souls and the God are eternal and can never disappear.

God being almighty shapes the matter as also the souls. He does it so that the souls which are infinite can reach and know Him for attaining eternal happiness, which we call bliss.

Imagine God's quantum of work is infinite, for infinite times, which is so laborious, and our job is only to know Him! And it is quite easy.
