Any person who is serious about his worship of the Most High God ought to believe it is truth, else why even be bothered? What shall I say then: "I don't think my religion is the truth, I'm just here for the singing!" Never may that happen!
Jesus had a most enlightening discussion with a very sincere worshiper at a well. The account is found in John 4:20-24. This woman had worshiped God according to a particular pattern for quite some time as had been set by her forefathers. But in verse 22, Jesus made a startling statement: "You worship what you do not know," he said. Imagine that! This sincere woman who loved God was wrong. He went on to explain to her that the true God was looking for those who would worship Him with spirit and truth. If this woman wanted her worship to be acceptable to God, she would have to make changes. No doubt, she did.
Clearly, then, there are many ways to worship God but not all of them are acceptable to him. For our worship to be pleasing, it must be grounded in spirit and truth. What is truth? According to Jesus at John 17:17, [God's] word is truth.
It is no different for us today. If we are sincere as the woman at the well, we will make sure that our worship is grounded in truth. We will make sure our path is the one leading off into everlasting life.

People in general always think thier path is the correct one. That's what happens when we were given the gift of being able to speak and communicate and form ideas.

Believing in a religion is just that...what you believe is right. If you truly feel you are right, then how can something else be right? It is how you handle this that makes the difference...
Say I believe that the exact color of the ocean is teal. Someone else says turquise. I cant believe that it is both colors...so now, how do I react. I can say 'to each his own' and let them believe what they wish, I can rationally explain why I think its closer to my color then theres, or I can start spouting off..."No! It is TOTALLY teal! You are so wrong! Everything you believe is wrong!"
That bieng said I believe in more of a spiritual existance where all religion is true in the mind of their believers.

".....say a prayer for saint religion, say a prayer for blood baptism, say a prayer for its division....." an excerpt from the song " If You All Get To Heaven " by Terrance Trent D'arby
Religion is what is dividing people, NOT spirituality. There is a difference. I'am an African - American man and I study HINDUISM yet I respect all faiths. There are many roads but ONE truth.

I only believe that my path is correct for me.
When you look around at the world, you'll see tremendous variety - in flowers, insects, trees, stones, humans, dogs, etc.
If a Creator made all this, that Creator loves variety.
A water lily and a desert daisy, if they could converse, would disagree about nearly everything - the nature of the world, what is "good", what is a meaningful life, and so on.
And they would each be "correct".
So, too, with humans.
"God" is different for different people. "God" is the sum of what is miraculous to us, as cultures, as individuals.
And we are surrounded by miracles. The face of "God" that we see is found in WHICH miracles we see as being miracles.
If your central miracle, the miracle that defines you, is that humans are different from all other life, the face of "God" that you see will be entirely different from the "God" that people see whose central miracle is that the same life force animates trees, birds, humans, cats, flowers, insects, and stars.
HOW BIG are you willing to let God be?
Are any of us going to say that God only hears prayers if they are spoken in a specific language? Will God only know that our hearts are filled with reverence and love if we kneel, or bow, or stand in circles? Does God only listen to us if we call a specific Name?
It is we humans who place limitations on the nature of God. At the same time that many of us exclaim that God is not completely knowable, that God is infinite, we also proclaim that we, and we only, understand God or what God wants of us.
Our proclamations about God say nothing about God. They only say things about ourselves; our limitations, our lack of compassion, our self-righteousness, our need to make others wrong.
Our understanding of God says nothing about God. It only says things about ourselves; our desire to classify and contain, our drive to justify our own view of the world, our clannishness and exclusivity.
If "All things are possible with God", then some of that possibility is that others have a meaningful relationship with God in ways that are different from our own ways.

Religious faith isn't a minor issue, like a favorite football team, or being a Republican/Democrat. There is no eternal significanc to those, whereas faith has eternal consequences.
If you are wishy-washy about your faith, then who cares. Otherwise, you are concerned about people's eternal destiny.
