Personally that would probably scare me if a guy a met on the internet told me that he loved me, unless of course there had been months or years of talking and sharing lives and photos and stuff like that. If you never caught him in a lie and he knew things about you just like a real relationship would be. And while I believe that you can get close to someone on the net I think that before I bonded so emotionally I would at least have to meet in person once. So if you are close enough to the person then I think it would be okay to share those feelings if that's what you truly feel.

Not necessarily, you can fall in love with the image you make out of a person, like having an idol. But I would be careful to meet the guy the first time, do it in a public place and let trusted friends or your parents know you are meeting the guy, when and where. If you like the guy it might be okay, what do you feel for him? Just friendship or? You have to decide what you want and if it is not the same as he wants then call it quits!

Without a doubt. Don't be throwing those words out so casually. At least meet the person, and find out if they are really the person that they portray themselves to be on the net. There is so much lying going on on the net. Big fat ugly lazy old men are telling young girls that they are handsome young men with great jobs, women are posting pictures of models as themselves, etc...

Well...not really its happened to me before, though we were speaking for around a year, then later met up... i guess it depends on if its just some random weirdo or someone youve actualy been talking to for along time.

if it was something I heard like ten minutes after we started talking, I would be weirded out... but if we got to know each other better and he said "I love you" by that point it would not scare me off. The feeling may be mutual.

Yes!..This has happened to me. We hadn't known each other long. He proclaimed I was his soulmate and he wanted to marry me! Red flags went up all over the place!
I am not a person who takes commitment lightly. Scared me off? You bet! :)
