Yes, sort of. The BIOS should allow you to set an option for that, the boot order. It's not a Master/Slave setup per se, it's closer to setting a CD to have boot priority to the hard drive (since SATA is a different technology, and doesn't use the master/slave setup of IDE). If there's no option for that, your motherboard doesn't support it, but I've yet to see one that doesn't.

To enter the BIOS, you need to press a certain key when your PC first turns on. The exact key varies PC to PC, but there will be a message telling you which one. DEL or one of the Function keys are the usual candidates. Eg. "Press xxx to enter Setup".

It's normally drawn on the cover how to jump you hard disk. That small plastic thing has a metal inside that connects the small pins you see at the end of the drive. jump your SATA as master and your IDE as slave. Some times the SATA comes with it's cables, get connected with that cable to the right place on your mother board if it is supported.

SATA does not use master/slave system like IDE did.
But yes, you can use both at the same time and use the IDE hd as your "c" drive with operating system, if that's what you need.

Yes of course.

But I think it would be best to just use the slow 20Gb HDD as slave. The SATA HDD is faster. Use it more.
