You won't be street legal if you do. As of 2006, the EPA put in new smog restrictions for motorcycles. That's why HD is discontinuing the Sportster model this year.

When you take the one on it off, it will be disabled. Look in cat. under your yr. an Dyna, an thats how you find what fits. Ask before you buy....what else what might have ta be done, then decide......

My boss had it done on his 2007 softtail. The dealership used a power commander, and wire around the O2 (oxygen) sensors.

check with hd first, they picky about things like that, most likely it can be done but if you dont have an authorized hd service tech do the work it could possibly void your warranty, and if its fuel injected you will have to have it remapped. hope this helps
