We've camped all our adult lives. We had a break for a few years but now our kids have got partners and we have grand children, suddenly it has become a family hobby again. It's a great way for us all to meet up.
What do I do? I camp to relax. No television, no telephones - at least at one time there wasn't any, now we can't escape our mobiles - no technology, no rush. It's just totally different to rushing about and meeting deadlines.
We walk the dog, make dams in rivers, enjoy being out in the countryside. Have Barbecues. Chat. Relax. Read. Have fun with the kids. It's a great way to switch off and wind down. Try it if you haven't done so already.

Yes. In my younger days, that was a sleeping bag under the stars in the middle of nowhere, a hand line and a full pack. Now, the best I can do is a tent, and my back really needs to be off the ground. So, I stay in the designated camping areas, and the car carries the gear instead of me.
Mostly, I enjoy being out in the open, and away from all the noise. I'll go fishing and hiking, sit around a fire in the evening and talk quietly with friends or we sing.
(*sigh*) No phone. No computer. No video games. It's a beautiful thing.
It's 6:30 a.m. and it 's the first day back to work from my vacation...I don't want to go. I want to RETIRE! I want to be back in the mountains! I don't want to deal with all the DRAMA! Please..don't make me go...

Cook creatively over the fire, gather wood, hike the woods, swim, go boating, fish... and the later hours are centered around the campfire staying warm, drinking and laughing.

Relax mostly, but I like to sit and write or sing, fish a little, swim a little. Mostly I just like to enjoy nature.

hunt for rabbits, eat the rabbits fish get drunk with my dad, play some hunting games, and then very late at night sleep under the stars

been camping once, all we did was cook food on a grill, poop in the woods, and watch half the people in our group learn the hard way what poison ivy looks like, and how to treat it.......

No thanks on the camping idea. I chalet, hotel, motel or motor home but I do not camp. Guess it is due to never doing it as a kid.

i love camping...i go fishing and hunting for my food...i absolutely love i..the smell of the fire and the sound of it crackling,..the noises of the woods...i could go on and on. happy day:)
