Better not to - use bottled still water (cheaper anyway), or better still, collected rainwater (cheapest option). The balance of the minerals may not be good for them, but plain water or rain water is. After all in nature they would be in plain water.

Ok, I'm sorry people but please go play in traffic.

To your question, I wouldn't use mineral water. For the past several years I've raised tadpoles of frogs toads and newts, just FYI.

Tap water is JUST FINE, unless you have a high chlorine amount in yours, which if you do you'd know. But even the small ammount of chlorine found in everybody's tap will evaporate within a couple days. SO USE TAP WATER.

And for feeding, try boiled vegatable leaves, like cabbage or lettuce. The boiling just makes it softer, like aquatic plants. And when they're bigger try some live brine shrimp or water fleas if available at a petshop, the protien will speed up growth but is not nessessary. But they would do slightly better in tannined water. Tannins come off rotting plant matter, so if you want to make their tank look nice try putting a log (like for fish aquariums) or even sticks or dead leaves.

The most important thing is food and how much oxygen is in the water (Tap water is good for that) and also warmer the water faster they grow (bout 60-75 degrees F is good)

Hope this helped and saved you a trip for the needless pond water!

No. Go fetch more of the water where u got your tadpoles. Its their natural habitat. They will die if you give pure mineral water. maybe can mixed.

I can't imagine that would be any better. Try pond water, since tadpoles normally live in ponds.
