Blowing on a match removes enough heat from it to stop the chain reaction. If you could blow hard enough, you could blow out a larger fire the same way too, but you can't blow that hard (unless it's just getting started). By blowing on a fire you are trying to increase the amount of oxygen flowing over a particular area.

We blow on a fire to make it burn because when we do this we supply more oxygen for the fire to continue burning. Under the pile of sticks the fire might not obtain enough O2 and so we blow on it or fan air on it. In the case of a match stick, there is already sufficient oxygen to keep the fire burning and all that is needed is stuff to burn. And so when we blow, we overpower the flame and therefore put it out. This also means that you can put out a camp fire by blowing on it. Only systematic and precise blowing of air will keep the camp fire alight and not put it out.

Blowing on a match is enough to move the flame away from the source of fuel, ie the wooden match thus the flame is extinguished because it has no fuel to burn. There is oxygen in exhaled breath which will add to the combustion of the fire thus making it burn more.

As we all know with any fire what is burning is hot gas nothing else, therefore if you blow hard, fast and long enough on a burning flame you not only cool the gas but also blow it away from it`s source.

(raises hand, me, me, me) air flow and oxygen effect fire. a fire needs to breathe and blowing on it penetrates the heat and flame deeper into the afire log or object and blows dust out of the way to continue a clean burn that eats the afire source. blowing out a match is a very small fire and is designed for this feature but the chemistry is similar.

I loled on the section once you stole the truck and crashed it in the wooded area. It looks like a shady verse. it is quite humorous. I mean some areas are patently quite wack, even nevertheless it is no longer undesirable, and in lots of cases quite humorous.
