We mainly think about the relations between African Americans and white folks, but what about the myriad other racial and ethnic groups that populate not only the U.S. but Europe and other places?

How can we get past our differences and recognize our similarities and the things we have in common?

How can we truly share our humanity with each other and others?

I'm almost 66 years old and I have seen improvements in the U.S. in my lifetime, but we still have a long ways to go, and there are places on Earth that have not begun to improve human relations and the human condition.

How can we start? How can we continue?

Ideally, there would be so many suggestions from where to start, but I'm sorry that will never happen in your or my lifetime.

I guess we can start within ourselves and pass it on to others, hoping they would pass it on. I don't think impossing ideas enmasse will work, because each person has their own belief systems & values, whether it be good or bad values, and we can't change that unfortunately.

A very inspirational movie about that is Pay it Forward.

if we can provide a better life for all the people i don't think racism stay as a big issue. here in europe if people do not like say turkish or polish guys it is mainly because they are taking the jobs in their countries. so it is not really involved with races.

i mean, i don't believe people hate other people just because their skin is darker or lighter.

if you say cultures though it is something else and with bush like politicians there's nothing to do i guess. you overthrow him and bring someone else and weapon manufacturers or oil companies just go like "darn, this president is a good one, we can't attack other countries anymore." ? i really suspect that...

i don't believe usa is the pure evil or something. it is just the most powerful country and when you are the most powerful you just don't care "losers" i guess. history shows that. look at egyptian at their strongest era, remember germany, england...
