Hi I have graduated recently and now I am trying to get into finance. I have been invited for online tests. They are not difficult when I take them at home but i cant never make it on time when I am taking them for real. Do you know any ways to practice and what to focus on? Any links?

It's not unusual for Companies to ask candidates to take aptitude tests these days - it's amazing how many A* students turn out to have got all their course work done by their parents [or cut&pasted from Wikipedia or via Yahoo Questions :-) ]

Most tests are time limited of the multiple-choice type with all questions equally weighted.

Check in advance how many questions (eg 50), how long you have (eg 5 miniutes) and if you will be penalised for a 'wrong' answer (usually not).

Work out in advance how many seconds you have to answer each question (in above example, 6 seconds).

Read each Question and the multiple choice answers. If no one answer 'leaps out' as correct, discard the 'impossibe' answers and then spend no more than the available time performing a quick 'guesstimate' to find the most likely answer from the remaining 'possibles'.

If you can't decide, pick one of the 'possible' answers at random (unless you are penalised for wrong answers).

If you finish the test early go back over any 'difficult' questions.
