20+years ago xwife on welfare 16mo.@270.00total 4,300.00 Have paid over 11,500 still owe 14,500 pymts 200 interest 76 per mo 10 yrs payoff 23k+11k=34k from $4,300? I know loan sharks with better terms. Question: I know I dont owe these amounts in fact I feel I have over paid. 11,000+ should have covered costs, they say she was on welfare almost 36 months, I no better, x knows better, kids do to, I have asked for some proof of this time frame and was told NO, burdens of proof on me. Welfare office says they have no records on file, so how do I prove she was or wasnt? next question: recipient to get first 50.00 of every monthly payment? xwife has never received a dime from any payment. Child support corrupted, now one of the largest income producing entities on state and county level of monies that should have been disbursed to recipients. Isn't this a form of EMBEZZLEMENT, What one would call a WHITE COLLAR CRIME? Any suggestions about free legal help or answers to my questions?

Well that's a hard one. First of all get a lawyer. Since he can re due the support if its way beyond your abilities. But the arrears can only be changed w/the ex making the decisions. And once the govt steps in .. only way is a lawyer or learn to get along with the ex to make some good decisions.

Example will waive all the past due child support if you give me a better price to buy you out of the house.

Doesnt matter much about what you think about the child support system and youre definitely not alone. You can contact your local legal aid assoc for free help, but it comes downto you owe arrearages so you must make arrangements to pay it wth either the courts or local child support collection agency. Just keep your opinions to yourself when dealing with either as theyve heard it all and you need their help, not them yours so wont do any good getting mad at them. Just contact them ASAP before you get arrested for this or worse, authorities start attaching to things like bank accounts, tax refunds, etc. Many dads out here complaining about exactly same thing but to no avail. Good luck
