I mean, we have liitle to hide down there and we are basically equal, our genitalia is internal. But men are very different and doesn't have shame when they undress. Are more willing to show it all. I know for friends making jokes. Even kids, girls are more shy

I think that you're mistaken about this. Most women are not ashamed of their bodies as men are.

I agree with John M. Social conditionning. I'm sure some men are not comfortable being naked, but they don't really want to show it.

Personally, I'm not shy about it, but if the girls around me are not comfortable with it, I try to hide a little bit so as not to offend them (except at the beach, where I go topless). I've always seen my mum and my 2 sisters naked, and still do once in a while, so that's problably why I'm not bothered, and I also used to see my cousins (girls). I also went to the beach naked until I was about 9 or 10; my sisters didn't, but I obviously never cared about it.

In Northern European countries, people in general are not very prudish: they often go to nude beaches. So I'd say it mostly depends on the culture, although I'm sure some people (men and women) are naturally more prudish than others.

It's tough to generalize about issues like this. My own experience is that we really aren't as shy as society depicts us, and many of us are actually as comfortable naked (or more so) than guys. Through history many cultures, ours included, have promoted the idea that women need to be chaste, modest and basically refrain from showing "too much" skin - however that was defined at the time.

Thankfully those ideas have come under fire and are changing. If you spend any time at the nude beach, you'll see that's it's a pretty even distribution of guys and girls who are OK with being naked in public, especially among younger people.

Nudity in appropriate situations is great, and something to be enjoyed by both guys and girls.

I would thing that it would be the opposite. I mean think about the female nudity in films compared to men. Part of this has to do with a patriachic society, but also because many actors are unwilling to put themselves in such a vulnerable state and to be "sized up" by the public eye. Especially with the insecuritites that men might have about their thing and especially because of the notions of "size and how it matters". A man fears of being riducled, or emasculated for possibly looking small or not as big as what people might have expected. Many guys don't want their things to be compared to other guys things, because as good as they feel, one can't help but to think or wonder if the other guy might put him to shame or make him look small; therefore, a man who is even decent might not want to show "his cards" to other people.

Only in America are women afraid to show off their bodies. It seems that over here men do not respect women as they to in Europe and Asia.
Also the secrets of a woman is in her breasts, which she cannot hide like a man can hide his organs. So the only way a man can show off his package is when he is nude.

I think its the way society has steered them. The female body is much more focused on than the mans. It is more acceptable in "the world" for a man to have a few extra pounds than a woman... It all comes down to self image.... but hey if you dont like it and its changeable change it... and than we could all run around naked! Just kiddin! But seriously some woman are just as comfortable... and some men are more shy when it comes to be nude! It all comes down to self image!

Because girls have been taught from an extremely long line of older women-that if they are willing to show off their bodies, undress for men, etc, they are sluts. I am perfectly comfortable with myself.

It's because of all of the taboos that have been placed on nudity by society. There is a double standard that exists but it all comes back around to social conditioning. It's also a confidence thing as it can vary from person to person depending on how they feel about themself.

i can see why women would be more concerned with it because women are so sexualized that they would be assured to be harrassed, molested, or raped. a naked man is seen as a gross thing, but a naked woman is a sexual thing. this is an example of woman as other, whereby society's view is a heterosexual male one that sees naked men as nothing of interest but a naked woman something to be consumed (visually or sexually).

personally, i don't care about being naked. sometimes i go clubbing in just pants and nipple tape. i've used my own nude figure in my art. i don't take crap from the people who try to harrass me.

I for one am not shy about my body anymore. I Have a rockin bod for having three kids. If the neighbors slip a peek I don't care. I don't talk to them anyways. Everyone does have insecurities,, be it about their body image, professional image or how they project them selves to other people in general. Everyone wants to be liked and hates to be hated. It isn't a gender thing. It's a personality thing.
