14 is his original jersey number..he just inverted it..

because when he played in high school his number was 14 but when he got drafted in the NBA by the Bucks but then traded him to the Mavs, the number 14 was already taken by another Maverick teammate, which is Robert Pack, so he switched the digits and 41 became his number since then.

During his Highschool days his number was 14 when he played in Colledge he inverted it for no reason at all and just like that his number became 41.
