I am not talking about competition dress. I am talking about the 'urban salsa' look. For example, I see many dancers wear berets and tuck in small (white) towel in their back pocket while dancing. Is there such style as salsa dancers style?

Black pants, black shirt that often has some white ornament in front. Or a black shirt that has some bright colors in front. Or any decent-looking shirt for that matter. Clothing is loose and the shirt in not tucked in. T-shirts are only worn by geeks (in case of salsa) or by beginners. I've seen berets on some people, but I don't like that style. Besides, you are sweating as it is, why would you want anything extra on your head. I think I've seen towels in the back pocket too, but it always made me wonder if the guy has a toothbrush in his front pocket LOL.

Go to a Latin club in your area. Salsa dancers are usually dressed in black or black pants with red shirt or red accent. I have not seen the towel in the back pocket yet. I don't know about berets, that seems a little od.

I beleive if you're going out dancing you should be as comfortable as possible. I agree that girls shoud put their hair up and that men should carry towels to wipe off the excess sweat from their body. But if you know you are going strictly to just dance and nothing else, you should dress with something that's light I prefer a form fitting shirt to prevent lag in fabric and to absorb sweat faster. Also loose pants to help you move faster and at the same time they make your movements look better. Overall, I agree less is best I mean cover yourself but try not to wear too much ti wear it feels heavy and overwhelming when you dance.

For a beginner class, special dancewear and shoes are not necessary. Just wear clothes that aren’t restrictive and a pair of comfortable leather-soled shoes (rubber-soled shoes are not recommended as you can’t do a spin with them, but are still ok at the beginner level). Keep jewelry to a minimum as that can get caught and/or can scratch or hurt your partner.

At a more advanced level especially for followers who spin more, shoes with soles that are conducive to spinning will be required (thin leather or suede soles are ideal). Running shoes are not recommended. However it will be a while before your normal shoes present a problem. It’s probably best if you wear the same shoes you wear when you go dancing. For example if you wear 2-inch heels when you dance in the clubs, you should also dance on 2-inch heels to get accustomed to the different balance involved.

If you take dancing more seriously or for a long period of time, you may want to invest in a pair of ballroom shoes (thin suede soles) which cannot be worn in the streets and a pair of dance sneakers to practice your shines or for a full day of workshops.

Uh, i'm valuable that your skills on the dance flore has little or no to do at the same time with your sexual orientation, regardless of what others might inform you. many of the main well-known international dancers are truly heterosexual.
