i m adult muslim man having muslim wife. now i want to marry a hindu girl.may i marry her without giving divorce to first wife. but i want to marry hindu girl after converting as hindu, tell me is it legal and valid.

Absolutely illegal & invalid. Once you convert to Hindu religion if your Muslim wife takes divorce from you, then only you can marry this Hindu girl otherwise you will be charged for bigamy under section 494 of the Indian Penal Code, & your second marriage will be void as being preformed during the life time of the first wife. Will your first Muslim wife seek divorce from you under the Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939 or not depend on her but for you to seek divorce from your Muslim wife as a Muslim is very simple for you as you know it better. If you don’t want divorce from your first wife & want to have a second Hindu wife as famous Mughal ruler Akbar, and then go in for Nikhha according to Muslim Sharia/law.

A Muslim man can marry a non-Muslim woman. But A non-Muslim woman canNOT marry a Muslim man. I think that Muslims and Hindus should not marry [unless they can work things out] because there will be a lot of controversy. For example, what religion will you teach your children - Hinduism or Islam? Also, whether you will keep idols in your home. Darling, I hope you understand. You sound like a very sweet girl and I hope Allah [sWT] will guide you! :) P.S. Usually, the fact of a Muslim marrying a Hindu is frowned upon. I'm not sure why. :)

Once you convert your self to hindu you can only have one wife legaly. You must not use religion to benefit yourself. You have to divorce you first wife if you really want to marry this girl or you just forget about marrying as legally and morally in both way this act is sin and invalid. Spartan

As per Supreme Court decision you can not do this. Conversion of religion merely for marriage (second) is not permissible under law. So you can be in real trouble in case some one initiated legal action against you and yes your first wife who is Muslim can also initiate action against you.

u can marry any second girl, having first wife - but, if u marry any hindu u have to convert her to islam - where as, u dont need to convert any cristian girl if u want to marry any cristian.

Look that is so bad..why would you want to leave your wife. After you had her and probably took a lot of her precious years, that she devoted to you. Now you want to leave her, You should have thought of this before.

with out going into details of religious restrictions i do object to your second marriage in presence of first one she being hindu or muslim thats besides the point
i would advise all here on yahoo answer not to give any justification and a way out to him to get into second marriage
