Ha. I was going to say Dakota Fanning, but I see you've mentioned a little something about her already. Besides that... honestly, it's a very western name (I mean wild west- although I'm not a geography buff, and I don't know if the Dakotas were technically part of the wild west). It's a strong name, somewhat masculine or tom boy. When I think Dakota, I think of a girl who likes to ride horses, wears jeans all the time, wears boots, maybe a cowboy hat. Listens to Paula Cole (I like Paula Cole though). That's just what comes to mind when I hear of the name Dakota. Not that there is or isn't anything wrong with all of the above. But first and foremost: Dakota Fanning. Excuse my honesty.

Dakota is a great name. Two of my cousins have children named Dakota (Dakota Chad (boy) and Jasmine Dakota (girl). This is your baby, name her whatever you want.

I think that it is cute. Dakota is one of those unisex names that can be used either for a boy or girl. I like it both ways.

Dakota is my male dogs name. I think Dakota is a good name for a dog but not a person.

Dakota is good with Fanning.

Dakota alone it isn't so beautiful. Well, I think.

I don't like it. Trendy, not that cool of a state, odd androgyny. . .

If you want names that are also real-world things. I prefer Autumn, Summer, or April to Dakota.

sure but i don't usually like unisex names like jamie but that's cause i hate a girl named jamie. it reminds me too much of north or south dakota and i'd imagine a person named that with a cowboy hat.
