Since there was no year known as Year 0, all new centuries would begin with year 1. Thus the first day of the 1st century would be January 1st, year 1 or 01.01/0001

SInce there was no Gregorian calendar back then, our form of dating would not apply.

There was no year 0 however.

The first day of the 21st century was January 1, 2001. The year 2000 was part of the 20th century. We actually celebrated the new millenium on the wrong year.

perhaps it would be 01.01.0000
