Currently my PC is broken, I cannot find the box of my RAM and I am planning to upgrade with more when I buy the replacement power supply for the pc. It says how much it can hold i.e. 512 MB but not the DDR.

Once you have your power supply replaced and your computer running, download CPUZ here:

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Install it then check out your RAM under the memory and SPD tabs.

You can also just look on the RAM itself when you open the box. Careful when you take it out, the pins are delicate and you don't just pull. You disengage the little tabs on the side of the RAM card slot first, then it lifts out with "zero insertion force". Take your old RAM to the store with you or compare it with the picture of the mail order RAM.

It is a piece of cake once you look at it.

Good luck.

Once you get the computer working, you can go to www.crucial.com and use their scanner. On some types of ram, it says the speed on a sticker. Finally, you can just get access to the internet and use the product or serial number on the ram to look it up and find the speed (google works great for this).

So I it could possibly be a PC133 SDRAM. The pc133 has two notches, 168pin. And the DDR SDRAM has one notch 184 pin
