No. As of the end of 2006, the total U.S. public debt was $4.9 trillion. If intragovernment debt obligations are included, the debt figure rises to $8.6 trillion.

So the debt is over $8,600,000,000,000, and the population is about 300,000,000. In round figures, that means that presently every man, woman and child in the US needs to send the US Treasury about $28,700 to wipe out the government debt.
