To become a psychologist (or therapist) it can take anywhere from 6-8 years -- undergrad + grad school combined. I think it takes 2 years to get a masters and 3-4 years to get a doctorate. It also depends if you are going PT or FT. You may want to check out some career books, talk to a psychologist or check out schools in your area. Call and set up an appt. for an information or prospective student interview. Hope this helps!

First learn to spell psychologist correctly ;>)

After that, it's like any other advanced degree: 4 years (junior college+college) for a Bachelor's, 2 more years for a Master's, and another 2 years (on average) for a Ph.D.

A phycologist is a biologist who specializes in studying algae. There are a few schools where you can specialize in this area, but usually you would get a general degree in botany and then do graduate work in phycology with some professor who was an expert in algae.

There aren't a whole lot of job in phycology!!!!
