It's a funny thing, but people never fight for the truth, they fight for their beliefs.
What we believe in is inside ourselves, a part of what defines our sense of identity.
Whereas the truth is objective, impersonal. The truth, like it says in that TV series, "is out there somewhere". Who cares that one plus one is two?
The most horrible of all atrocities are always committed in the name of some faith in some cause or other, never for the sake of rational, factual reality.
Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Osama - all "true believers".
Why are people "true believers"? Because they are immature, psychologicaly dysfunctional, have a chip on their shoulder, have anxieties about potty training, etc.
Sadly, such personal problems are commonplace. There are many who seek to re-enact the battles of the playpen on the politcial stage, who try to inflict thier private revenges on the general public. So long as they have something to believe in they will have a "cause" to justify their childish behaviour.

I stand up for what I believe in. Fighting is usually not required. But if necessary, yes I would.

I don't need to fight for what I believe in.
Thats right.
No matter what happens or is said, I will always believe in it.
People, all over, the world, fight for what they believe in.
Where does it get them.
Sorrow, hurt, and even death.
Stay, with your beliefs, discuss them with the people who care.
Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.
Its a sad world. Isn't it.

One of the things wrong with most people is that they don't fight or stand for what they believe in and when they do it's uaually something against the laws of God and man.

I stand up for what I believe in but I don't fight for it if it's not a death-life situation.

Most of the time yes, if it's something I feel very strongly about. Sometimes, it's not worth the fight (energy), and it's better to just agree to disagree.

not anymore - been my experience that when someone holds an opinion thats strong enough to fight over you aren't going to change their mind. I don't need their approval to carry on.
