Absolutly! Sony game systems rock! And the PSP is well on it's way to becoming yet another ONE HUNDRED MILLION UNIT hit for Sony.
And don't pass up the PS3 either! Blu-Ray is great, and the upcoming Home network is going to totally change people's concept of social networking.

I got one for my daughter, she is now going to be 18 this year. She likes playing with her friends and the picture and video parts of it are like old cell phones,,,,etc. I don't plan on buying her anything else , she has that great education to further her communication needs then a mom is able to do.
I've done my best, so now she has to work for it.
ps,,,,,it was fun to play her tennis on her playstation, we had a blast, or she played with her father tomb raider, etc....

They have come down in price, and there are add-ons you can get to play it on your tv. See here:

Howvever, there have been rumors of an "updated" psp coming out this year, see here:

So, if you don't want to wait... get one. Otherwise, wait until the next thing comes.

Yes for sure if you have the money and not looking for a big system like PS2, PS3, X-box, X-box 360, or Wii. I would say go for it.
