Spirogyra and Volvox are photosynthetic algae, but the other two are fungi.

To move to land:
1. They needed a waxy cuticle layer over any leaf-like parts to prevent water loss.
2. They needed vascular tissue to transport water within the plant and to help support the plant when it isn't surrounded by water.

Some also say lignins, which give more structure contributed.
