Because refineries are converting from the winter RVP unleaded to the summer RVP. Also there was an electrical disturbance at a major refinery in the midwest, which has caused slowed production. THen you have higher demand during the warmer months on top of that.

The price of gas will keep going up until Bush is out of Office and the people don't have anymore money to spend on any-thing other than gas to work.Gas just went down $4 this last week and the price of gas is still going up. There is no repair that hasn"t already been paid for many times over. It's time to change commanders.

Because they ALWAYS raise it this time of year and they had the "excuse" of the British Military Personnel being held prisoner to start their its Spring so raise the price of gas bullsh*t early. I really wish that the US had a better public transportation system like they have in Europe. I am stuck in the middle of no man's land with no car & no way to get a job because the buses don't come here. The sad truth is the raise it on us becasue they can can and they know that we will pay.

no, its going up because summer is coming, people in American (largest oil consumption country in the world) are going to be traveling more, and it will spike even more during the labor day weekend. Like it has EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS!

Investors make a killing on gas, buy in the fall, sell the following summer. Easiest way to make money in the market.

Greed. Big Oil has everyone over a barrel and they know it. They know all of the excuses for raising oil prices from "Worry" to "A pipe broke". When gas is $3/gal, Exxon Mobil by itself profits $90 million a day.
