Modern punk bands that sound a bit like green day are- Blink 182, +44, Good Charlotte, Fallout Boy.
But noone can actually steal greendays style. They creat magnificent and unique music which is great.

there aren't any good bands that sound like green day, that's an oxymoron. Green day sucks and any band that's going to sound like them is going to suck.

Well, I think Green Day is a really bad band.
Both their lyrics & Vocals suck.
No offense if you like them.
It's my personal oppinion.
But, I think "Red Jumpsuit Apparatus" Kinda sounds like them
Just with better vocals & lyrics.

go old, research and learn all you can about music, without the ramones, sex pistols and Black flagg there is no green day.
Also know Billy Joe loves old jazz, miles davis and such...never let yourself be stopped by genre. Tori Amos affected NIN.
