Well I used to work as a waitress and I was having a really bad day. Then i served this lady and she was a real *****, she was complaining about everything,
Until she called me over to her table and said"This potato is bad"
I picked up the potato with my bare hand and spanked the potato saying"bad, bad potato"
Well it wasnt funny at the time, I got fired but then they asked me to go back, I guess they could understand that i was having a bad day.

Yes I have worked at Several and work at one right now Im a cook. I have witnessed anything bad at the place I work at right now but I did at another place which let's just say I was not pleased and left. The kitchen was very very dirty they used very old oil and the fryer it was gross. Caked on Grease on everything. People werent washing there hand and would touch raw fish and then put like french fries on a plate and not think twice.
We didnt have a proper sink dishes werent washed well at all! Raw food was mixed with cooked! GROSS Ive seen mold get cut off and item and it still be used.
Food gone bad or very close going to bad rinsed off and still used!
Where I work now A girl threw up all over the bar table and bathroom.
Oh and like the other girl a women well exploded all over the bathroom floor and wall!

I worked 3rd shift at an all night cafe. We always got the bar rush at 2:00 am after the bars closed. And all of a sudden this old (about 70y/o) man started cussing this black younger man. And I knew this isn't going to end pretty. I was washing dishes behind the counter along the bar. My manager tried to stop them but couldn't. They weren't fighting yet but close. And then the black man pulled a gun. By this time our manager was on the phone with the police. I was freaking I was getting ready to duck but was scared to death. The older man had backed away but was still cussing up a storm. I still to this day don't know why the old man started cussing in the first place. But the police finally arrive and they both went to jail. I only worked there 6 months. And don't plan to ever go back.

Yep one shift in a Chinese food place was quite possibly the dirtiest place in the world the owners could not speak English just kept pantomiming things to do at me! You vacuum You wash you fill I was server what the f*ck did they want me to vacuum for? The grossest thing that I saw aside from greasy prep cook chopping veggies on a dirty counter was delivery people eating off of plates that were waiting to go out or maybe it was enormous vats of brown liquid scattered about the kitchen have no idea what that was yuck was too nasty for words so I never came back after that one day then my dog turned up missing coincidence?

When I was 18 I forgot to turn off the flame beneath a "fryer" ( the machine full of oil) while I emptied it and all of a sudden it was on fire.
I was not familiar with the place so just pulled some cord to trigger a big overhead fire extinguisher system and the entire kitchen and anything in it was immediately covered with an inch of what looked like white snow.
All employees stayed overnight cleaning because of my mistake.

Many years ago I worked in a Chinese restaurant in country NSW. The guys (all Chinese of course) would sit around after work and stuff themselves with food while they gambled away their pay packets playing Mahjong.

My pet peeve was that they couldn't speak English properly. I was the barman. Once a waiter took the customer's order which he yelled at me as he disappeared into the kitchen.... "A wong fat wat!" Hmmmm, must be some new kinda Chinese food or something. Wonder what kinda "wat" it is? When he came back he says "Wine, where?" I asked WHAT (#%@*&^&#) WINE! (Well I didn't really swear but I felt like it.)

He went to the cupboard behind the the bar and produced his bottle of "Wong fat wat." The lable in English said LONG FLAT RED.

Years later I worked in the bar at a Band Club in Western Sydney - a lady came up to the bar and ordered a drink. With the loud music I didn't quite hear exactly what she said. I though she said she wanted a lovely fu**! She wasn't my type anyway so I asked her to repeat her order... she wanted a "fluffy duck". (They are actually quite nice.... but I forget what they are made of now.. I think Cointreau, Orange juice and cream on top.)

Gotta get new batteries for that hearing aid.

I worked at a Pizza Hut several years ago...For the most part we were a very clean kept place ( I hear a lot of horror stories about other fast food restaurants).
I think the worst thing I ever did was pick mushrooms off one side of a pizza before bringing it to a table. ( they only wanted mushrooms on half and the cook put them on the whole thing), but my hands were clean!

My ex used to work in a restaurant. He said that cooks drop things all the time like hamburger patties or steaks. They pick them up and put them back on the grill for a few seconds to "kill" the germs. He also has seen cooks wiping their runny noses while cooking and coughing over the food. eewwwww
