My wife has been off of birth control since December. We would like to conceive but simply haven't, and she has been late for two straight months now. She recently this past weekend has taken a pregnancy test but it said "NEGATIVE." Any idea what's going on? Does it HONESTLY take this long after she quit the BC to be late?

IT COULD BE STRESS, THAT HAS STALLED HER PERIOD, ALSO IT COULD BE A FALSE TEST RESULT, BLOOD TEST IS THE BEST. ITS VERY IMPORTANT SHE REALLY RELAX, MEDITATE IF POSSIBLE OR EVEN BETTER SIGN HER UP FOR YOGA. I READ A ARTICLE ABOUT A WOMAN WHO COULDN'T CONCEIVE AND STARTED YOGA AND 3 MONTHS LATER SHE WAS PREGNANT SOMETHING ABOUT IT RELEASES SOME TYPE OF HORMONE THAT WILL HELP CONCEIVE .GOOD LUCK.

Improvements have been made in pregnancy tests over the years, but there are a few of us women who require the blood test, rather than the urine test to establish whether or not we are pregnant.

Birth control pills are hormones, working to regulate the female reproductive organs. To suddenly stop the pills does not guarantee that your cycle will automatically return immediately to what it was before you were on them. It may take a few months before you are able to conceive a child.

Even though she has been off BC for several months, her cycles might still have not become regular. This is rather common. Give it a few more months, then consider seeing a doctor. He can give her some medicine to help refulate her cycles. Good luck!

It could be a false negative. Have her get a blood test.
