I think he fell in to the white black trap. Like a black man can walk up to another black man and call him Homey or Cuz. If your white (you should know better) you don't do that. He is a redneck and I think he should have known better but he F***ed up. Should he be fired I don't think so but he should be reprimanded and have to pay a fine. For god sake that's all they ever did to Howard Stern and he had said a lot worse in jest.

Its Imus for crying out loud.

Kind of like Howard Stern.

He spoke before he thought about what he was saying.
Was it wrong to say what he said? YES!
He apologized. Does he mean it? Don't know! But thinking he does.

No he should not lose his job over it.
But I am willing to bet that the sponsors that help support the show will be backing out and the show will be Canceled.
He has been suspended, I think for two weeks, starting next week...

Yes. I believe in freedom of speech, but what he did was uncalled for and unprofessional. Really, if he felt like he had to use the airwaves to say things he said, which were completely out of context with the topic, maybe he'll appreciate it more when he doesn't have it. And then he does the classic interview with black politicians to redeem himself, it's just so pathetic. We're trying to create a better society, somebody who harbors hate like that should not be allowed to have that platform to express it.

I think you or me or Imus should be allowed to use any term any other man or woman uses - if those terms are offensive then they shouldn't be in common use by other races either. How about Dave Chappele or other black comedians - should they be fired for wisecracks about white people? Imus is guilty only of poor judgement. He should have anticipated the outcry.
