you should be able to rent a code scanner for the computer. The self test results will tell you where the problem is.

If you pull the plugs and after trying to start and they smell like gas, then the electonic ignition isn't working and that could be from a bad sensor, or a faulty computer.

if the plugs do not smell like gas, then the fuel system (EFI) may be shut down. This could be a bad fuel pump, a blown EFI fuse, or the engine computer.

if the starter spins but doesn't turn the engine, it is either a bad bendix, starter or a bad fly-wheel.

Verify that the engine you put in was compatible with the ECM that came with the car.Check Ignition Module. You can pull it out and get it tested at Auto Zone for free.Even though it has a full tank of gas, doesn't mean that the engine is getting fuel.Although you said you had the engine running. For how long?Check that the engine is getting fuel for sure and if you have to. Pull the plugs again and inspect for excess fuel.Make sure the battery has a full charge when attempting to start again.Too many things can go wrong if the engine is not compatible with the ECM.Get info for self test on ECM also.Good Luck

i would start out checking fuses and/or electrical connections. a computer doesn't typically go bad like that.
