Considering that the Komodo Dragon is the biggest monitor lizard there is, I would say the Komodo Dragon. The giant monitor might get a lucky punch in though, so who knows. Some sites list them as the same creature, some as different. I think they are just variations of the same animal.

Dude, the komodo whips the monitors rear end totally! Komodos are monitors - but they get to about 12 feet. Giant monitors get to about 6 ft. Ohter monitors like perenties and goannas are further small, dude
