R. Walters of Nimbia was the first batsman to be out for a golden duck in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2002/2003.
In the 2nd match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2002/2003 between Zimbawe and Nimbia played at Harare Sports Club on 10th February 2003, he was out for the first ball he faced from Heath Streak and caught by Taibu.

There was another golden duck in the same world cup. In the 10th Match played between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka,
at City Oval, Pietermaritzburg, Hannan Sarkar of Bangladesh was bowled by Chaminda Vaaz of Sri Lanka on the first ball he faced.
