good luck on finding a good truck for only $1,000. but to answer the question. I would buy the best shape,running truck with good tires i could find for that amount of money. regardless of the brand. in most cases that $1,000. wouldn't even cover a down payment without good credit. unless you go to a used lot who will finance themselves and even then the $1,000. will not be enough. good luck.

A Toyota Tacoma...they last forever. Mine has 320,000 miles on it and its still running strong.
Fords have major reliability issues, especially 90's models. I have owned all of em, and Ford is not the way to go.

As good as Ford trucks are, they are expensive to maintain and repair. I'd go with a Toyota or someother import.

For $1000. you don;t want to be picky . If it passes the safety inspection and seems to run OK. buy it before someone else does.
