I'm trying to write this paper for my professor and i'm really confused. Can anyone explain this to me in a short simple way?

The function of an organ is related to its structure. This means that the way an organ is built has to match what the organ is supposed to do.

For instance: the stomach has space inside to contain the food, muscles to mix the food around, and lining to secrete the necessary chemicals. The stomach's structure is perfect for what it needs to do.

Another example: the ear is supposed to capture sound and send it to the brain for interpretation. The outer ear is built to collect sound better, the ear canal directs the sound to the inner parts of the ear, ........

The Function of an organ is often related to a Mechanical
Device or a machine which we use in our daily life.
For e.g, the Arms are compared to ladles,the Brain is
compared to computer, the legs to whels of cars,
the stomach to a mixie, the liver to......what else not!!!!

The function of an organ is simply survival. Our organs are the result of many trials and errors throughout evolution. Many generations of giraffes probably went hungry from time to time, until they developed necks long enough to reach into trees that other animals couldn't. That is their weapon, adaptation.
