ALREADY WE HAVE 4 OPENING BATSMEN IN THE TEAM NAMELY SACHIN,GANGULY,SEHWAG,UTHAPPA.IF ANY TWO OPEN THE INNINGS THE ANOTHER TWO WILL SUCCEED. SO THERE IS NO CHANCE FOR HIM TO OPEN THE INNINGS OR COME AT ONE DOWN OR SECOND DOWN. YUVRAJ AND DRAVID ARE FORM AT THEIR POSITIONS. SO, DHONI CAN COME AFTER THEM ONLY. DHONI IS ALSO GOOD IN HIS POSITION. SO DRAVID CANNOT PUT DHONI ON THE TOP OF THE BATTING ORDER.

Dhoni is basically an attacking batsman capable of scoring quick runs. To put a batsman like Dhoni in the top of the order, Team should have sound foundation without loosing many wickets. When the team looses one or two batsmen within the first 10 overs or so, it is not advisable to send a batsman like Dhoni up in the order as the team will not have any attacking batsman to bat in the slog overs if he gets out early. If the team has not lost only one or two batsman within 25 or 30 overs, Dhoni will be an ideal choice to bat up in the order. In such cases, Dhoni has been sent to bat up in the order many times.

ur question is very good thats the main reason for indias defeat in major matches as dhoni is a attacking batsman he should be promoted up the order as the batsman like dravid sachin slow the run rate very much and when the time dhoni comes to bat he does not get the time to settle he has to just make quick runs and gets out in this process so he should be promoted up the order to have a high run rate and he is a capable bats man also
have a nice day~!!!!!!!

I certainly agree with you in this matter. In case of chasing large totals dhoni would turn to be quiet useful to speed up the run rate if batted in the top order. But it could also be a gamble, as Dhoni is usually reserved for hitiitng sixes in the last 15 overs. If he is used in the top then we would have no one to hit in the end of the game. But right now, he is not doing good enough. He is caught up too much in ads right now.

Dhoni is not a top order batsman, he is just a pinch hitter.
Of course, for a twist, he can send to the top order once in a while, but not regularly.

Because if Dhoni goes up, he will get out soon. It is not advisable to have an aggressive batsman up the order. Haven't we seen him struggle against the swing bowling?(Leave out his 96 against England that was in a batting track).

We need Dhoni at the end.
However Dravid can use him in certain matches, now and then to speed up things at the start.

Even before world cup our middle order form is weak.To strengthen the middle order and support the opening unbeaten batsman. If time demands there is no problem to changing his batting order

Because Dhoni can play and win as a match winner .
if he has to open or come up the order then it
would`nt be possiblefor him to keep his title as match winner.
