The simple answers is; these days not really. The premium oils are all about the same. The big differnce is between ssynthetic, full synthetic, some syntheic etc etc. Use a good oil which ever you choose and make sure its the proper weight as per yoour owners manual change it regular and you cant go wrong.

indirectly but yes. oil in its production stages, takes on some attributes. the chemicals in the oil will do one of two things, either cause gaskets and seals to swell or shrink (recess.) although not very quickly, it will take some time but eventually, this can cause a leak. that tied to the fact that every time we heat and cool the engine, we compress the seals and gaskets again.

yessssssssss stick with the name brands. some "off" brands are really "recycled" dirty motor oil !!! they filter it and claim to make it "just like new oil"......... yea right !!!!! and change it every 3,000 miles no matter what fool tells you that you do not need to. yes the oil will last longer than that BUT it will be contaminated by fuel slowely blowing past the cylinder rings. so 3,000 miles then get rid of it !!!! /

hi, if you are not into syntetic or semi syntetic brands, look at the sae ratings of each one, they are all the same. but one to each own... each one has a favorite brand. i myself get the cheapest and the savings i get i reward myself with a chalupa and soda.. but i also use semi syntetic on my newer vehicles.. :)
