Oh, no doubt questions such as this can be best resolved by taking a POLL or a SURVEY in the P&S section - don't you agree?

What an absolutely BRILLIANT place to ask questions like this! I'm just overwhelmed by the intellect that must be driving such an inspired choice of venues.

Keep in mind that you are assuming that the speed of light is a constant which is questionable. Also keep in mind Einsteins Theory of relativity. What you see may not be exactly what you think it is. You have a valid point, but you are assuming some things so I would like to clear them up: 1. You are assuming time is a constant, and light speed is a constant. God could have invented time after he invented light, or sped up or slowed down time. If this sounds far fetched, then remember that the Big Bang could have greatly warped time, and space. There is a theory called the Bubble theory that seems more solid than the Big Bang theory. 2. You are assuming that these objects existed billions of years ago. That is not directly based on observation. Some of it is theoretical. There are some anomalies, I can't get into. I realise that this explanation would not satisfy you, but I don't think it's a smoking gun that Biblical creation is false. We can't go back in time and measure it, so we haven't verified that these objects are that old, and that they are that far away. I agree that it's ridiculous to assume all objects are 6,000 light years away because the Bible says so, but it's equally ridiculous to assume the Bible is incorrect because there are stars that far away. Both are circular reasoning, and not based on direct observation (the time aspect of it). History only goes back 6,000 years, so it remains a mystery. The Bible does not state that the stars were created 6,000 years ago, that is an estimate based on geneology.

dinosaurs were wiped out during the flood.. And your techniques used to date them are woefully inaccurate! Carbon dating is useful if you have all the required info, but if not it can give you a shocking result..There are too many variables that are acting upon the bones! I wish i could find this article! It was about these creatinists who played a trick on Carbon daters. There was some flash floods over 2 weeks that caused a big ditch, they asked them to come and date it, wanting to know how long it took to form. They quoted them 50 mil years, when it was only 2 weeks.. hmmmm!!! Wish i could find the actual article though, i lost it!

If the world is only 6000 years old, the dinosaurs became extinct less than 6000 years ago! :D

I think you're assuming all creationists are fundamentalists.

I believe everything was created by God via the Big Bang. I believe if scientists were able to explore everything everywhere in the universe it would all make scientific, mathematical sense until the very end when they ran into a mystery as far as HOW the Big Bang happened from nothing.

Aren't Dinosaurs created as well? It takes a lot of effort to evolve from an ameoba to a T-Rex. Especially growing the teeth and claws and stuff.

Husker is a queer. Creationists can't explain it. That's why they're becoming extinct, just like the dinosaurs.

HAHAHAHA.... By the world I am assuming you mean Earth. Not sure where you 'heard' that the world is only 6000 years old. You should be doing your homework...

I believe in creation, but it's mankind that is only 6,000 (about) years old. The creative "days" were thousands of years each, maybe more. And we are still in the seventh "day," God's day of rest.

The died off in the Flood or shortly there after. Plus Carbon Dating isn't exactly an exact science.
