"The meaning of life is to give life meaning, by living it." --my friend

42

In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (published in 1979), the characters visit the legendary planet Magrathea, home to the now-collapsed planet building industry, and meet Slartibartfast, a planetary coastline designer who was responsible for the fjords of Norway. Through archival recordings, he relates the story of a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings who built a computer named Deep Thought to calculate the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. When the answer was revealed as 42, they were forced to build a more powerful computer to work out what the Ultimate Question actually was, but their plans never come to fruition. (Later on, referencing this, Adams would create a puzzle which could be approached in multiple ways, all yielding the answer 42.)

You cannot give life meaning by yourself. The best you can do alone is to invent something that makes you feel good and then deceive yourself that it has some reality. But if you do that, you should realize that the real (but hidden from yourself) meaning of your invented purpose is to make yourself feel good.

For all those who think that they can make up some meaning on their own, your real meaning is to live your life for the sake of good feelings.

Only your Creator can give your life true meaning.

We were sent down to eart to live by God to be in a happy place and thrive without sickness, sadness, or anger. Since Adam and Eve messed that up for us, the meaning of Life is to live good in a world burried in sin so when we die God will judge us and send us to Heaven where we can live on and on happily forever and ever (if we're good). The meaning of THIS life is to be good so on the day of God's final judgement, we will go to Heaven and live happily forever without reason.

Why do we have children (I'm not old enough yet)? Mainly because we want to (being a big and powerful god, don't you think that God'd get lonely if he was all by himself?). What does the kid have to do in order to get ice-cream? He has to be good. Why does he have to be good? Well, your own opinions and ethics can answer that.

This meaning of THIS life was originally to give us a magical place to live so God could have something to love and he could sit and watch in Heaven above. Since this life was messed up, THIS life is mainly kind of a trial to see if we are pure enough to go to Heaven, or if we have been purged in sin.

Hope this helps!! =)

Life is the meaning. If you go searching for some external answer, you'll miss out on life.

There is no meaning of life. But you can choose to live it meaningful or meaningless.
