I have not been to LV since December and the Barbary Coast is now Bill's Gamblin Hall. I can't imagine that they would close this restaurant but this site should have info.

Here's my advice - If this is your first trip to Las Vegas, choose 1 or 2 must eat at restaurants. Then play it by ear. In Las Vegas, food is secondary to the fun but when you do get hungry - you'll always find great restaurants near where ever you are having fun at.

The worst thing you can do, is schedule 5 days of restaurants and ruin your entire trip because you need to get to someplace before your time is up.

Now here are my suggestions lol

For Brunch/Breakfast, I recommend the Paris Hotel. If you show up at 10:00am you can pay the morning breakfast rate and feast on the Brunch that shows up at 11:00am. ($11-$13 breakfast)

My favorite dinner buffet is the Aladdin, if you enjoy Mediterranean food, you'll enjoy this buffet. (around $26)

Spagos at the Forums at Caesars Palace. Around $20 - $40 per person, but a must visit.

Check your hotel for Complimentary Buffet/Restaurant Meals. Usually Strip Hotels have greate/moderate buffets.

Ther are many more but Sometimes finding them is all the fun

You must go to Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian. I probably am biased for recommending it because I work there, but it the only place I really enjoy going out to eat.

We have a lot of out of town regulars, and I have listened to scores of people tell me how much the love coming back to the Lux when they visit Vegas.

It's owned by Cheesecake Factory, but the food at the Lux is even better. Give it a try when you get to Vegas. I guarantee you'll be back again.

Wow. That's a hard question to answer. I'll give it a whirl though.

Favorite breakfast: America cafe in NYNY
Favorite Sunday Brunch buffet: Mandalay Bay
Favorite Mexican: Pink Taco in Hard Rock
Favorite "pub grub" : Buffalo Wild Wings (it's WAY off the strip, near Sunset Station)
Favorite Steakhouses: AJs at the Hard Rock, Prime at Bellagio, and N9NE at the Palms
Favorite Italian: Battista's Hole In the Wall (off Strip)
Favorite Chain: Cheesecake Factory in Caesar's Forum Shops

Good luck! Enjoy.

BTW - try wandering around some of the websites of the hotels and look at some of the menus and see what interests you. It's REALLY HARD to find crappy food in Vegas, at least in my experience.

OMG the BEST place to eat at the Golden Nugget is The Grotto! it is the most incredible food! We eat there every time we go which is about 4 times a year. And if you are looking to save money then buy the $1 margaritas on the strip at the cute little casino across from the Mirage.
