Are you thinking of Mighty Mouse's girlfriend? She was named Mitzi in the comic books, and Pearl Pureheart in the cartoon, operetta and Bakshi Series.

Try some of the classic series like other ppl said Trigun and Deathnote are both amazing. My person favorite is Cowboy bebop closely followed by full metal alchemist. Berserk is also an amazing series and not too long. Samurai Champloo, made by the same ppl as Cowboy bebop has an awesome music theme going on, similar to Cowboy bebops style, yet in a completely different scenario. You might also wanna check out neon genesis evangelion... the intensity of that show cant even be explained in words. Enjoy! :-) P.S. I'm sure you will
