Judging fly balls. It is difficult for a young outfielder to figure if he has to come in on the ball, or drift back.

The consequences are, a lot of missed fly balls, 44-39 scores, tired players, and frustration.

Are you talking about school ball? Usually they don't have tryouts it's just sign up and play. However, if there are tryouts just show up, hustle during everything, pay attention when coaches talk and play hard. If you want more competition, I recommend playing travel baseball. Just look around the Internet and I'm sure you'll find teams near you. They're more expensive but it's worth it. The competition is good and it'll better prepare you for high school. If you're just looking to be casual and have fun, then just go out for your school team and have fun! Good luck!

I'm not sure what this is called, but what you do is: you divide the team into four. Then you have them in the shape and length of the bases. Get them to pass it clockwise and try to push them. See how fast they can go.
